- 07/20/17--17:34: A-Trak, Quavo and Lil Yachty Link Up On Catchy New Single "Believe"
Electronic music icon, A-Trak, impresses per usual with his latest release “Believe” featuring Quavo and Lil Yachty. A-Trak capitalizes on the latest trends in music recruiting two of the more recently notable hip-hop artists in the game. Lil Yachty has developed a major following for his hysterical personality and his absurd music videos such as “Minnesota” and “Broccoli”. Quavo has seen exponential growth after creating Migos and since has collaborated with the likes of Major Lazer and DJ Khaled. The three artist have come together to create “Believe” which captures each of their unique styles perfectly.
The production from A-Trak shows his versatility being able to work with any sound and contribute his subtle creative touch. The verses from both Lil Yachty and Quavo are exactly what you’d hope and they complement each other extremely well. “Believe” is an incredibly catchy song that anyone can find themselves dancing to… A perfect summer song. Enjoy!
Tyler, The Creator's much-anticipated new album Flower Boy is here! Leading up to the project, Tyler was 3/3 on the outstanding singles he previously released: "Who Dat Boy (feat. A$AP Rocky)," "911/Mr. Lonely (feat. Frank Ocean & Anna of the North)," and "Boredom."
Tyler, The Creator's fourth studio album, Flower Boy, continues the summer vibes brought from the singles and creates an immediately enjoyable project. The final product is an impressive album from the 26-year-old artist and among some of the best music he's ever made. It takes the melodic parts out his last album Cherry Bomb and combines them with the clever lyrics, rhyming schemes, and imagery he is known for.
In addition to the featured artists on the singles, the album features Lil Wayne, Kali Uchis, Jaden Smith, Estelle, and more. Through all the additions, Tyler still stands at the forefront of the album and carries it from start to end. The seventh track "Garden Shed" uses a metaphor for being in the closet and fans have speculated this song is him coming out, backed up by other lyrics on the album referencing this. Regardless of if this album acts as a personal statement or a collection of songs for fans to relate to, this is one we'll be listening to all year. Enjoy!

Swedish group Ember Island has created a formidable presence with their covers of songs throughout genres, from Jack Ü’s “Where Are Ü Now” (remixed by Flaxo) to Radiohead’s “Creep.” With effortless vocal chops and gentle, clean production, the trio has cultivated a spiritual sound that’s nearly impossible to emulate. Today the group has gifted us with yet another impressive cover, this time their smooth take on Rihanna’s 2007 hit “Umbrella.”
With this cover Ember Island has turned a conventional pop track on its head, giving it an infectious, tender new sound. The track has a delicate production that utilizes subtle percussion, guitar riffs and atmospheric synth builds. This coupled with the moving vocals creates a heavenly overall vibe. The music video for the track drives this feel home with a muted color scheme and scenes of each band member performing. Check out the song and video below. Enjoy!

Parisian multi-instrumentalist FKJ is undoubtedly one of the most talented musicians in the game. He’s had quite the busy summer, recently sharing two live videos – one of him performing his track “Die With A Smile” with the backdrop of an aquarium and the other, his more recent live collaboration with Masego, “Tadow." Tie these in with his debut album “French Kiwi Juice,” and FKJ has already taken the world by storm in the first half of 2017.
Now FKJ has joined forces with fellow musicians Wayne Snow, Darius, and Crayon to form a full band called The Nightbirds, which he says performs “improvised music.” Their first session is out today via Roche Musique, consisting of three songs: “Midnight Run,” “Gonna Be Alright,” and “Goodbye.” The first track transitions seamlessly into the next, with all three maintaining a chill and trippy downtempo vibe. Stream below:
Moreover, FKJ recently curated a “Mini Mixtape” for BBC Radio, in which he discusses his musical background and influences. He shows us some of his favorites, including music from Mild High Club and Aretha Franklin, and he makes sure to throw in a couple of his own tracks too. It’s evident that FKJ is a Jack-of-all-trades, and his talents shine in his latest material. We can be sure that he won’t be slowing down anytime soon. For now, check out his mini-mix below and enjoy!
